Hi! We are John & Sam Ray!
We are natives of Raleigh, North Carolina.
We met in high school and shared a love for Cookout, music, laughing, and thumb-wars. It was an instant friendship.
We both love Jesus more than anything.
We got married in April 2012.
In January of 2014, we started seeking God about what He wanted to do with our lives, if we laid them down all the way – jobs, house, everything. From October-December of 2014, we traveled to Africa to attend Heidi & Rolland Baker’s Harvest School and to seek God with all of ourselves. It was worth every penny and sacrifice to be taken up out of our life as we knew it, and consider it our full time job to love God, be loved by Him and His people, and to love the people around us.
We spent the next 6 months back home in North Carolina, learning how to live life in constant communion with Him amidst constant transition. We took this time to really listen and pray over the puzzle pieces he was revealing about our future. After a series of miraculous confirmations, we packed our bags and headed out again in June of 2015.
From June through October 2015, we served and loved in Israel, based out of Tel Aviv. This practically looked like volunteering at a messianic Guest House, encouraging local believers, and showing Papa’s love through our life.
We are currently located in our hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, and are praying for God’s plans for us here. We want our “real life” and our ministry life to be the same thing. Please pray with us during this time of intentional settling in!

“Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
